  • Wounded Dolphin Rescued Treated Released Back To Sea In Bacolod

    An injured dolphin was found stranded in the waters of Takot Lutaw in Barangay (village) Pta. Salong, Manapla, Negros Occidental, 8:30 a.m. Monday and was set free soon after, Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante said.

    The Risso's Dolphin (Grampus griseus) appeared to have been speared and its body had markings of a net indicating that it had also been trapped, the mayor said.

    The 6 to 7-foot dolphin had a wound beside its dorsal fin, Municipal Agriculturist Alejandro Malijoc said in a report to the mayor.

    Mag-aso falls is located at Brgy. Oringao and it is 20 minutes away from the city proper. It has a motorcycle terminal at the entrance of Brgy Oringao that would take you to the resort, just be ready for a bumpy ride.

    It' been a while since my last visit in Sipalay. Sipalay is one city in Negros Occidental which has great beaches, nice diving spots and a good place to spend your vacation or weekend. Unlike other popular beaches in the country, the beaches in Sipalay are not yet that crowded so I can say that it is still an ideal place to spend time with friends and loved ones.

    That was Saturday, 2 in the morning when we left Bacolod City for Sipalay. We decided to just commute so we took the Ceres Bus which brought us straight to Sipalay City. The travel time was around a little less than 5 hours.
