Matabungka Falls is a must-visit site in Tatlong Krus located in municipality of Paete in Laguna province. It will take approximately 15 minutes to reach this medium-sized waterfall. Soaring from 25 meters high with greens all over the place, the basin is quite good for a small group who wants to swim.

    We had been planning to see the "Tatlong Krus" (three crosses) atop a mountain called Mt. Humarap (a part of Sierra Madre mountain range) in a village called Paete in the province of Laguna. Though it remained a plan for quite sometime, finally it turned into reality on a long weekend.

    We were five - Myra, Bags, Louise, Jeannie and myself. We left Paranaque at 0705H and headed on to South via SLEX. It was a gloomy morning but the surroundings were dry.

    I have long evaded the eastern part of my hometown province Laguna. Most of the time my thoughts are plagued by it being just within proximity where I live. But then, I know that this area is abound with cultural treasure just waiting to be discovered.

    Paete is one of several towns straddling southern parts of the Sierra Madre Range while Laguna de Bay can be seen at the northern part of the town.

    As in most old towns, the church is in the center. Paete Church stands along Quesada St., erected facing the waters in the early days.
