Aeta Elder Gets Ecotourism Award
A lifetime achievement award was given to Aeta elder Dominador Liwanag, fondly called Tata Kasoy, for his life-long work of preserving the rain forest, along with old culture of the Aeta community, last week.
The Award and Certificate of Appreciation for "Lifetime Work in Preserving the Rain Forest and Culture" was given to the 67-year-old tribesman during the Subic Ecotourism Festival at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC).

Last Sunday, at the crack of dawn, the top executives and employees of Ocean Adventure and Camayan Resort set out on a journey to nearby Morong Bataan to visit the Aeta Community in Sitio Kanawan, Barangay Binaritan. The Aetas of Pastolan in Subic Bay Freeport recently ratified the expansion of the wind- and solar-energy projects in their ancestral land as part of their commitment to sustainable development.

SBMA Forest Rangers Stop Hauling Of Logs In Aeta Ancestral Land
Forest rangers, some Aeta natives, of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority on Tuesday said they have stopped eight big dump trucks from hauling logs cut from their ancestral land in this town.
"Walang permit para ilabas kaya pinigilan namin," said Ricky Manalansan, 31, an Aeta forest ranger.
