Despite the unfortunate fate of mummified remains inside coffins and burial jars, despite the ugly vandals and other graffitis, Bakwitan Cave still offers an exciting experience. Some of its rock formations, stalactites, stalagmites, and columns are comparable to the ones in Palawan's Underground River. It has a challenging trail that makes it a must-see area for adventurers.

Iloilo Gigantes Islands Discovering Gigantes Norte
An overcast skies greeted us on our arrival at the busy Estancia Port in Iloilo after an hour and a half long drive from Roxas City. At the pier, we met our contact, Sir Nick, with him was one of the guides, Jojo, from Gigantes Hideaway Tourist Inn where we booked our all-in Islas de Gigantes trip. Arriving early gave us ample time to procure our provisions for some snacks and most importantly, drinking water. It also gave us the advantage in choosing our seats as we were to take a passenger boat going to the island.

First Family Caving At Bakwitan Cave Islas De Gigantes Norte
One of the locals who was selling Halo-halo told us that there are three caves in their island, we have only been to Bakwitan. Life in their island is really tough. Oh, let me tell you that finding these caves are much easier than finding a halo-halo vendor, as everything had to be shipped by boat from either Carles or Estancia port, also, I'm guessing not every household have a refrigerator, even the resort we're staying at.
