Dead whale washed ashore in Laoag City
Ilocos bike enthusiasts have stumbled upon a dead whale while cruising along the coastline of Laoag City of which fishery officials said is the biggest so far to have washed ashore in Ilocos Norte.
One of the bikers, Anthony Ganal, said the dead whale has several wounds and marks all over the body; they discovered it while having their Sunday early morning biking near the shore.
Fishery officials said the toothed whale weighed around 60 tons but was already in the state of decomposition when found along the shore in Barangay Navotas in Laoag City.

Humpback whales visit Ilocos
Humpback whales 12 to 16 meters long, apparently escaping the colder parts of the Pacific Ocean for the warm waters of the Philippines this summer, are drawing tourists in Ilocos Norte.
Pasaleng Bay in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte has become a hit among adventure seekers, conservationists and tourists, as a pair of humpback whales and their young have been frolicking in its warm waters since April 2.
