Scuba Diving In Guiuan Eastern Samar
Barely eight months after Typhoon Yolanda devastated the Central Philippines, Ate Claudia and I set foot in Guiuan, the southernmost municipality of Eastern Samar. The town was our rendezvous for a detour trip after our scheduled dives in Biliran Island got cancelled due to unfavorable weather.
Guilt was knocking on my conscience that we were there for fun while the town's mood was generally the opposite. The devastation brought by the deluge were still evident and seeing them with my own eyes was seriously agonizing.

An off-beaten site, I haven't even heard or read about the spot and we only knew we were going there when we were already on the boat for our scheduled dives.
"Where do we go today? Asking in wonder our DM, whom we just met that morning.
"To Pearl Island!" He blurted briefly with no further description about the mysterious island.
It is just one of the islets off Guiuan, Eastern Samar and coming to this town was just a detour when Biliran province was just hit by typhoon. The lone dive shop in the province cancelled our weekend dives accordingly.
