Bonsai Forest Named Unesco World Heritage Site
The Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary in Davao Oriental has been named as the country's sixth world heritage site by the United Nations Eductional, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco).
Department of Tourism Assistant Secretary Arturo Boncato announced this today, immediately after the declaration made following the deliberations in Doha, Qatar during Unesco's 38th session.
Boncato, who headed the Philippine delegation, was apparently ecstatic as he announced the Unesco declaration on Facebook.
