Aliwagwag Falls Eco Park are located in the Aliwagwag Protected Landscape that preserves a major drainage catchment in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao in the Davao Region.

d waterfall with 84 steps ranging from 2-33 m has a combined height of 340 m. To the south of the park lie the foothills of the 1,416 metre high Mount Pasian with the Cateel River running between the mountains and into the Cateel Bay which opens to the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
The protected landscape is composed of lowland forests, with some areas of montane and mossy forests around the peaks of the mountains. A small Mandaya community who practice slash-and-burn agriculture and plantation farming can also be found in the park's lower slopes.
Aliwagwag occupies an important bird and biodiversity area in the Upper Cateel River Basin of the Agtuuganon??"Pasian mountains. Its forest is home to the Philippine eagle as well as several other threatened and endemic bird species such as the Mindanao eagle owl, Visayan miniature babbler, little slaty flycatcher and Lina's sunbird. The park also hosts the Philippine hawk-eagle, Philippine dwarf kingfisher, spotted imperial pigeon, giant scops owl, and Hombron's kingfisher. It is also home to the tallest trees in the Philippines, the Philippine rosewood, known locally as toog. Epic Family Road Trip
My family loves to go on long road trips. On a recent road trip we followed the Davao-Agusan-Surigao-Davao Oriental route that allowed us to see and experience some of Mindanao's not-so-well-known natural wonders.
We left home at past 10 in the morning so we can arrive in Barobo, Surigao del Sur at around 3-ish, giving us enough time to enjoy the cool blue waters of Bogac Springs. But because we are who we are, we had to make a few stopovers first - ATM to make a withdrawal and the nearest mall to buy rash guards and floaters.

A landmark law signed by President Duterte in June has declared 94 protected areas as national parks that are now under government protection and management, with government resources mobilized in their conservation.
