Lake Agco The Hot And Cold Eden Of Kidapawan
Located at the foot of the highest mountain in the Philippines, Mt. Apo, the Lake Agco Mahomanoy Mountain resort, or simply called Lake Agco, is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Mindanao. It is a 24-kilometer ride from Kidapawan City. Fortunately for those who don't own a private vehicle, there is a terminal of habal-habal which can be paid or rented to take you there. The trip can be bumpy and wavy sometimes, but the picturesque sceneries and the drop of temperature will lessen your hardships on the way.
One of the reasons why Lake Agco is flocked by tourists is because of a ... -
Kidapawan Citys Famous Lake Agco And The Manobos Of Ilomavis Reloaded
Lake Agco and its surrounding inland resorts is a popular relaxation place for a lot of people in Kidapawan and surrounding provinces. It is also one of backpackers fave "cooling down" place after hiking Mt. Apo. The mud pack, saunas and jacuzzis of the resorts near Lake Agco is heaven for tired and sore muscles. Recently, I had a chance of going back to Lake Agco and discovered a bit more of what Brgy Illomavis and Lake Agco could offer.
Lake Agco is located in a forest reservation 1,250 meters above sea level at the foot of Mt. Apo. It is part of Brgy. Ilomavis some 25 kilometers from th ... -

Forty Indigenous forest guards, 26 males and 14 females, took turns tracking the bird as he explored the group's ancient forests.
Through the elders' consensus and a traditional r ... -
Mt Apo Is Telling Us Something
I was in a bus when I chanced upon a giant tarpaulin hanging inside the usually crowded Ecoland Terminal in Davao City yesterday. It's a promotional material for "Davao: Life is Here" series used by the city government. Set against a setting sun, the peak of Mt. Apo offers a picture of serenity even in a printed material. An imposing text completes the ad: "Mother Nature's tallest grandchild: the Apo."
For us in Davao Region, this could have been an ordinary sight but the news about an on-going forest fire in two sides of Mt. Apo that broke last Saturday is an incident that warrants one's a ... -
