Haladaya Festival is located in Daanbantayan, Cebu. It is celebrated every Easter Sunday and ends with a streetdancing on the seventh day of April, after Easter. Haladaya means "Halad kang Datu Daya", the leader of the first Malayan settlers in Daan Bantayan.

Tribu Kasikas Wins Haladaya Festival
Hundreds of spectators witnessed the Haladaya Festival street dancing and grand showdown that highlighted the fiesta celebration of Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu last Sunday.
Eight clustered barangays of Daanbantayan joined the competion that started at 2 p.m. for the street dancing and 5 p.m. for the grand showdown.
Tribu Kasikas, composed of barangays Maya and Logon won first prize in the ritual showdown with a prize of P80,000 and first prize in street dancing with P30,000 cash prize. They were also awarded Best in Musicality and Best in Costume.

No Stopping Haladaya Festival
A smaller budget and fewer contingents have not prevented Daanbantayan residents from enjoying this year's Haladaya Festival which is held as part of the town's annual fiesta celebration in honor of Sta. Rosa de Lima.
Around 10,000 people gathered at the municipal grand stand last Saturday to witness the showdown of dances from five clustered contingents for the 12th Haladaya festival.
The parade of colorful costumes started at the municipal plaza grounds, and contingents danced their way to the streets in a show of recovery from supertyphoon Yolanda which hit last Nov. 8.
