  • Tuguegarao City Adventure

    Tuguegarao City Adventure

This has been the farthest that I've reached in Northern Luzon and my first ever visit to my dads hometown, good thing i chose to book a flight rather than conquering the 12 hour travel by land. Arrived at 12 noon at the Tuguegarao airport and haven't eaten anything yet, then i thought of their famous pansit batil patung and I'm just surprised of how it is served with different toppings, even though i am that hungry still wasn't able to finish it. One serving is actually good for two people.

After this sumptuous meal, i just felt tired and sleepy so i went straight to my dads' house to res ...

    Hottest Place In PH Tuguegarao

A major throwback to that trip I did last 2014, January.

Having at least 300 caves, Tuguegarao is surely a must-place for spelunkers. The most famous one of which is the Callao cave where a scene in a local movie was taken.

To reach Tuguegarao, you have to sit on a bus for half of the day or take a flight bound to the city for an hour. Since I was lucky enough to book a flight for a cheap fare, I took the plane to reach the city. I went straight to the tourism area (for some free brochures ) and asked for the direction to the city proper. I was told to take a tricycle for 50.00 (special ...

Travel Cagayan Chronicles Tuguegarao And Penablanca

Tuguegarao is a city in the land-locked region of Cagayan Valley up north (not to be confused with Cagayan de Oro down south). Bordering it are the Cordillera Mountain Range in the west, the Sierra Madre in the east, the Caraballo Mountains in the south and the Luzon straight in the north.

It was also the first stop on my recent backpacking trip. Tuguegarao became our homebase since the tourist spot I wanted to see ??" the Callao Cave ??" is actually located in a different municipality, some 30-minute "trisi" ride away in Peñablanca.

There are no jeepneys nor taxis in Tuguegarao. Their ...

Cagayan Trip For Less Than Php 5000

This Cagayan getaway of ours just became quite unforgettable. See, I have been traveling since 2007 and call me lucky, but I have never experienced any flight cancellations. Well, not until last March 2 of this year. Me and the other passengers were already at the coaster waiting to be transferred to the plane when the ground crew was radioed to inform us that we will not be flying to our destination that day. Apparently, it was raining heavily in Tuguegarao.

How could you prepare for something impromptu like that? Good thing we always travel light and have no luggage checked in to retrieve ...

    Our Great Northern Luzon Adventure

From Region 1 to Region 2
2014 was the year I stayed "local" and had no travels abroad. But that didn't mean I stayed put much. I simply had to quench my wanderlust and my sister, Giselle and her fiancé, Jopay joined us for one big Northern Luzon adventure again so close to the rainy season.

The previous year, they tagged along for my lecture stints in Baguio. We had so much fun visiting old summer haunts and reminiscing about our childhood. It was a busy four-day spree, squeezing in tours in between my senior citizen talks. And when the opportunity presented itself again, they were ready ...
