Palaopao Mountains are located in San Roque, Sumilao, Bukidnon. Stretching along the boundary of Sumilao and Manolo Fortich. Palaopao Hill stands with the height of 836 ft. above sea level.
The top was once covered with virgin forest while the sides contain several caves, including Paiyak Cave, rock shelters and limestones overhang contain wooden coffin and artifacts whose designs ...
are traced back to the metal age. These places were used as burial grounds during the early part of the 19th century.

The Sleeping Giant
Mt. Palaopao, another weekend adventure from the Land of Promise, Bukidnon. Visible from the highway of Kisilon,Sumilao,Bukidnon standing 836 ft. above sea level. The mountain is not that easy as you see, what you see from the highway is only the upper half of the mountain ( ahhmm, seems intriguing right?).
I've been passing to this highway and never thought that one day I could climb to this Sleeping Giant, I hope we won't wake him up.

The instruction from the man tending the Sumilao Food Court stall where we ate our breakfast was short and simple: just walk through the rice fields, go downhill and follow the trail all the way up.
