Philippine Serpent Eagle Rescued In La Union
Farmers rescued a Philippine Serpent Eagle in Pugo, La Union on Monday morning.
"Napansin nila na parang may umiiyak na bird pero hindi nila alam kung ano. Napansin nila na andun na sa ground iyong bird tapos napansin nila na agila siya," said farm owner Genaro Palaganas, who was in Palawan when the eagle was rescued.
The bird was weak and its foot was wounded. The farmers took care of it until Palaganas arrived from Palawan.
The eagle was brought to the Department of Natural Resources (DENR) Cordillera in Baguio City on Wednesday morning.

Residents of Talaingod town in Davao del Norte province found a Philippine Serpent Eagle (Spilornis holospilus) along a road under construction on Thursday afternoon, November 9.
In a Facebook message, Jill Majaducon, 31 told Davao Today that her husband Beldion Majaducon found the eagle around 2 pm in Sitio Indangan, Barangay Sto. Nino.

Four serpent eagles, two pythons and a turtle have been released in the forests of Pantabangan town in Nueva Ecija after five years of care in a rescue center of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Palayan City.
The seven animals were set free from Barangay (village) Malbang on July 13, Alfredo Collado, DENR provincial officer, said in a telephone interview on Thursday (July 20).

Midway through December last year, Adri and I took a short trip east of Manila to Rizal to visit our friend with a lovely home and garden, teacher Emma.
