Tam-Awan Village

The Tam-Awan Village is found in the northwestern part of the city. There are a number of Igorot huts within the village which will allow you to see how the homes of the mountain people really look like. You do get a chance to climb up the wooden ladder and see what is inside each hut. This will give you a chance to feel what it is like to be living in one of these huts.

has a main hut which serves as a store and an information office for visitors. There are a few native handicraft items that are sold aside from some books and publications about the Igorot people, their culture and traditions. You can also order a hot cup of native coffee which gets to be a welcome treat after completing a tour of the entire village, especially on a cold and rainy day.

Baguio: Tam-awan Village Get A Glimpse Of Cordillera Life In Baguio
A reconstructed Cordillera village is found in Barangay Pinsao, four kilometers from Baguio City center. It is an open-air museum where traditional huts are displayed, complete with cultural information. It also showcased the tribal arts by well-known Cordillera artists.

Baguio Hoping To Become Philippines 1st Creative City
The summer capital's creative culture will hopefully get the recognition it so richly deserves.
Baguio City may just be the country's 1st "creative city" after the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) eliminated Manila, Cebu City, Davao City and Angeles City from the quest.
The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is a project of UNESCO launched in 2004 to promote cooperation among cities which recognized creativity as a major factor in their urban development.
