Just off the southwest coast of the Batangas mainland, lies the radish-shaped Island of Maricaban. It has rugged hills and sloping mountains with the occasional splatterings of lowland plains and a liberal springklings of valleys. ch is one of the most visited beaches of the place, and known for its white sand and beautiful sunset at the beach's tip of the coast. Its located in the other side of the Island which you can take by walk or tricycle.

Mag-Asawang Bato is one of the two peaks of the island, and this is the most visited peak by mountaineers and nature enthusiasts, where a 360° view of the whole island can be seen.

Sombrero Island is located at the eastern tip of Maricaban, Tingloy in the province of Batangas. It's a mini island paradise inhabited by no one. The island can be reach through a medium size motor-boat or banka. One of the most visited beach attraction in the island.

Pulang Buli is a Fish Sanctuary between Barangay Sto. Tomas and Barangay Talahib. For research diving and snorkeling, you will need permission from the BBMC and the barangay councils of Sto. Tomas and Talahib.  Wiki

    A new marine protected area (MPA) has been founded in the Philippines within what are considered some of the most biologically diverse waters on Earth.

    The new MPA, which has been given the name Pirasan, was declared by the municipality of Tingloy on Maricaban Island in the Philippines Batangas Province. Pirasan encompasses more than 54 acres (about 22 hectares) of thriving coral reef habitat. The MPA was designed to protect this pristine reef system and, at the same time, boost an emerging local ecotourism industry.

    DOE to bid out 3 new geothermal sites

    The Department of Energy (DOE)is opening three new geothermal areas, namely Banton Island in Romblon, Balut Island in Davao del Sur and Maricaban Island in Batangas for competitive bidding.

    According to Ariel Fronda, Division Chief, Geothermal Energy Management Division, Renewable Energy Management Bureau, the three areas have been identified for private sector development after an open competitive bidding.
