Pantingan Peak is located in Sitio Duhatan, Brgy. Saysain, Bagac, Bataan. It is the highest point in Mariveles Mountain Range which stands at a height of 1388 MASL. This is also known to hiker as one of the limatik infested mountain, the abundancy of limatik (blood leech) on the other hand represent that this mountain is still rich of biodiversity. he difficulty rating for taking traditional route is 6/9 challenging and physically demanding 8/9 for the traverse. Normally the hiker can reached the pantingan peak in 6-10hrs for which trail varies from woodland to grassland to woodland then assault on rock and bushes leading to summit.

Hiking Matters 529 Pantarak Our Repeat Pantingan Tarak Traverse Dayhike
Almost two years after doing the epic Pantingan-Tarak Traverse Dayhike (which has since come to be known as 'PanTarak') as the first-ever team to do so (see Hiking matters #386-387), my good friends Koi Grey, Jeshua Sales and I returned to relive the great experience (sorry Daryl and Coby!). The Challenging Pantingan Peak Of Bataan
The highest point of the Mt. Mariveles crater peaks and consequently, the rooftop of the province of Bataan. Pantingan Peak (1388+MASL) is more challenging than its famous counterpart, Tarak Ridge, and offers a great view of what is inside the volcanic caldera of Mt. Mariveles. Since this is the trail less taken, it remains in a relatively pristine state, thus limatiks(leeches) and a wide array of overgrown, noxious and or thorny flora could be found.

I've heard about Pantingan has trails with a vast presence of leech (limatik) making it out of my interest. I have climb Tarak ridge 10 years ago and no plans of getting back on its trails but a crazy idea came to play how about " PanTarak day hike? Seems diehard experience, why not? "

Pantingan Peak Traverse To Tarak Ridge A Climb That Is More Than I Expected
It was only a chance find. I was looking for a mountain to climb since I haven't climbed a for a while. I had been to Tarak ridge and I know that Pantingan Peak exist. But it was only on my research that I found that both these peaks of Mt. Mariveles can be traversed.
