Massive tree planting program set in Taguibo watershed area
At least 1,303 hectares have been planted to various tree species at the Taguibo watershed area, source of potable water supply of the close to half-a-million inhabitants in this region's premier and capital city of Butuan.

Weak El Nino impedes BCWD surface water source
Forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration showed that the Philippines is currently experiencing the effects of a weak El Niño. PAGASA released El Niño Advisory No. 2 last April 7, 2015 stating that the weak El Niño will likely continue until mid-2015 with the chances of strengthening toward the end of the year.

A "Task Force Watershed" (TFW) has been created to protect and conserve water resources of the 4,300-hectare Taguibo Watershed in Agusan del Norte and this region's capital city, top environment officials said.
