    Sorsogon City Festival Sways To Dance Of Doves

    Thousands of people flocked to the streets on Friday to witness performers clad in traditional, colorful barong and baro't saya, dance the "courtship of doves" during the "Pantomina sa Tinampo," the highlight of the 10-day Kasanggayahan (Prosperity) Festival.

    Eight contingents, mostly teachers, danced the pantomina, along the parade route.

    On Friday, October 17, I began to see new colorful additions to the roads. People were putting up flags and large banners announcing the beginning of the Kasanggayahan Festival, a festival which was for the celebration of the 12th foundation anniversary of the Province of Sorsogon. The theme for this year was "Sorsogon: Rising above the Challenges". The festivities started the next day at 8:00 at the Capitol Park with flag raising (there's a lot of those here).
