Sorsogon City's very own festivity called Kasanggayahan Festival is just around the corner! It is a yearly event that commemorates the separation of the province of Sorsogon from Albay. Thousands of people flocked to the streets on Friday to witness performers clad in traditional, colorful barong and baro't saya, dance the "courtship of doves" during the "Pantomina sa Tinampo," the highlight of the 10-day Kasanggayahan (Prosperity) Festival.

On Friday, October 17, I began to see new colorful additions to the roads. People were putting up flags and large banners announcing the beginning of the Kasanggayahan Festival, a festival which was for the celebration of the 12th foundation anniversary of the Province of Sorsogon.
