Whale sharks have moved to the waters of Hinobaan town in southern Negros Occidental and have been drawing local and foreign tourists, Mayor Ernesto Estrao said yesterday.
Seven butandings, or whale sharks considered the largest fish in the sea have been swimming in the vicinity of Nabulao Bay in Hinobaan since Nov. 15, he said.
They have been feeding on small shrimps in the area and the crowds have been coming to catch a glimpse of them and to cheer as they swim by, he said.
