    My biologist friend Cari Salanio of the Environmental Conservation and Protection Center (ECPC) shared to me this picture of a sea turtle (chelonia mydas) that was stranded and entangled in the net of fisherfolks of Sto. Nino, Tuyan, Malapatan, Sarangani Province February 8. Known to be the fastest swimming sea turtle species, it weighed approx. 100 kg and measured 0.9 meters. ECPC, DENR, and village officials released the turtle to the open seas on the same day.
