  • A Bulacan Adventure Of Angat River Glamping And Malangaan Cave And Spring

Bulacan is often off the tourist map. Although known to still have pockets of bucolic life, it's fast becoming industrialized. Since it's located next to Metro Manila, it's where a getaway is perceived to be nothing different from having a staycation in a progressive city. For the longest time, it's only been associated with heritage houses and native delicacies. What many don't know is that the clean Angat River flows through some of its towns and the foothills of Sierra Madre are just nearby. That combo alone makes for a game-changing weekend that doesn't require a painful commute or drive. ...

  • Getaway At Metros Doorstep

There was a time when the distant shores and powdery beaches in the southern Philippines were just a pipe dream because of the prohibitive airfares, and Metro Manilans had to content themselves with the so-called excursions in nearby weekend getaways.

Among the favorite destinations then was Norzagaray, tucked in Bulacan's interior roads, just at the north eastern doorstep of the big city. Called fondly as "Garay", it is an unheralded tourist destination, especially for those who love the great outdoors and the simple joys of a no-frills back-to-basics excursion.

  • Only 3000 Trees To Fall In Angat Dam Rehab DENR

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has allowed more than 3,000 trees to be cut at the Angat watershed in Bulacan province, not 26,000 trees as earlier reported.

The trees stand in the way of the old quarry from where the Hanjin Heavy Industries (HHI) would mine rocks as stabilizing materials for the rehabilitation of the 49-year-old Angat Dam, which supplies 97 percent of Metro Manila's potable water.

HHI was the contractor commissioned by the Angat Hydropower Corp. (AHC) to undertake Phase 2 of the P1-billion rehabilitation project.

  • Tale Of The Trail Mount Manalmon In San Miguel Bulacan

Mount Manalmon was an all-in-one adventure destination. You have a feel good climb, a cave exploration, river crossings, swimming and even a crazy monkey bridge crossing.

    Tale Of The Trail

I've been on off season mode for over a month now to allow my body to heal after all the rigorous running for the past 6 years. Day hikes like Mount Manalmon is an exception because it goes at a more relaxed pace and still gives that extra challenge with the climb. The tour was organized by Wanderbee Travel and Tours so all I had to worry about was making sure I get to the meet up point on time and b ...
