Have you heard about the most beautiful island in the world? What comes into your mind when you were asked about Palawan? Coron, Balabac island, Puerto Princesa and El Nido. Last September 2016, I had a chance to go to one of those places. I went to the beautiful place of El Nido, Palawan. Pretty intimidating right? You'll ask yourself… Will a broke traveler like me be able to go there without hurting my humble wallet? Well, good news! I did! Without taking the fun out of the itinerary.

With over 7,500 idyllic islands making up the tropical archipelago of the Philippines, you could island hop to a different island every day for 20 years. So with limited time and an overwhelming amount of islands to choose from, I narrowed my adventure down to Palawan Island with a specific destination in mind. El Nido.
I've travelled to a lot of beautiful tropical islands in South East Asia. I've sailed around the limestone cliffs in Thailand, hiked to the summit of an active volcano in Indonesia, swam in crystal clear water off Cambodia, and kayaked past floating villages in Vietnam, but ...
If there will be a place that I would like to go back to, it will be El Nido Palawan. However, in recent years, previously hard-to-access beaches further inland or near El Nido proper have now been getting a share of the spotlight.

El Nido, as described by many, is a concoction of stunning vertical limestone cliffs and spectacular islets and beaches. It has been consistently ranking as one of the top tourist destinations around the globe and has been publicized on many travel journals. Visitors on the upswing has produced aplenty of tourism related businesses and has gathered revenues and popularity for the country. If you try to google the country's best bet for natural attractions, you'd most likely be routed to Mountain Province, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol or Palawan. You have to realize that top scoring sites almost often ...
El Nido is rarely what you think it's going to be. But if you can, imagine a tin-roofed town, with beaches stretching away on both sides, and sandy plots claimed by resorts and restaurants, all for one reason: Bacuit Bay.
Bacuit Bay is a perfect example of Palawan's aggressive, don't-look-away type of beauty that fills memory cards and keeps travelers in a thrall. The light changes from minute to minute, the clouds cast patterns over the islands, the tide is always up to something. You can't really pick a moment to see the best of El Nido, but mornings and sunsets are a good place to start. ...
