    Verde Passage MPAS Honored Among Countrys Best

    Twin Rocks Marine Sanctuary in Mabini, Batangas and Agsalin Fish Sanctuary in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, were honored as finalists of the Para El Mar competition in awarding rites held at the University of the Philippines on August 31, 2011. Twin Rocks Marine Sanctuary also received a cash prize of P35,000 for placing third in the competition. The top spot and P100,000 cash prize went to the Bangaan Marine Sanctuary in Zamboanga Sibugay.

    Oriental Mindoro Provincial Government MFI Award Best Managed MPAs

    The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro and Malampaya Foundation Inc. awarded on November 15, 2014 the Top 10 Best-Managed marine protected areas (MPAs) and Best Performing Bantay Dagat groups in the province to recognise models of protection zone conservation, management practices and enforcement. Assessments and ratings were based on the MPA Mgmt Effectiveness and Assessment Tool as the monitoring instrument set by the National Coral Triangle Initiative Coordinating Committee.
