Lumad Carrascalanon Wins 32nd Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival

Dancers from Carrascal, Surigao del Sur won this year's 32nd Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival, besting six other contingents held on Sept. 9 here.

The Lumad Carrascalanon Folkloric Ensemble received P350,000 cash prize plus trophy.

The other winners were Saint Paul University-Surigao, second place, with P250,000 cash prize plus trophy and Lumad Capalaynon of Capalayan National High School, third place, with P150,000 cash prize plus trophy.

The special awards for Best in Costume, Best in Streetdancing, Best in Musicality and Reyna nan Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival, all went to Lumad Carrascalanon Folkloric Ensemble contingent, while Best in Contingent went to Lumad Poctoyanon with W.D. Rafols Memorial National High School and J.R. Clavero Memorial Elementary School, Surigao City.

In his message, Vice Governor Arturo Carlos A. Egay, Jr. representing Surigao del Norte Governor Sol F. Matugas, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all the participants with special mention to contingents of Carracal, Surigao del Sur, Kapatagan Laak, Compostela Valley Province, and sponsors who contributed much to the success of the said event.
