  • Inug Og Festival Pays Tribute To The Subanens

    The "Inug-og" Festival Street Dancing and Ritual Competition, a tribute to the Subanen tribe was held on October 12.

    The Misamis Occidental Science and Technology High School (MOSTHS) emerged as champion in this year's festival competition which is one of the prelude activities to the City Fiesta in honor of its patron, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, on October 16.

    The festival is a tribute to the Subanen tribe who inhabit along the numerous rivers inside the Mt. Malindang Ranges Natural Park (MMRNP), at the foot of which, Oroquieta, the capital of Misamis Occidental, is nestled.

    The Province of Misamis Occidental celebrates its 84th anniversary. One of the main activities that highlight the celebration is the Pas'ungko Festival. The Pas'ungko Festival featured the Subanen Tribes tradition and culture.

    The contingent from the Municipality of Calamba emerged as winner of the ritual competition of the Pas'ungko Festival held last November 10, 2013 at the Provincial Quadrangle in Oroquieta City.
