  • Kalinga declared as tourism development area

    The joint force of the Senate and the House of Representatives recently approved Republic Act (RA) 10561 declaring Kalinga as tourism development area in the Cordillera.

    The new law known as "An act declaring the province of Kalinga in the Cordillera region as a tourism development area (TDA)," mandates the Department of Tourism (DOT) to allocate a trust fund which will help develop the different potentials of the province.

    Mount Binaratan, also known as the silent mountain, can be found near the Tanudan River, between the boundary of Mountain Province and Kalinga. The summit offers a breathtaking view of the province. The environment is very calm and peaceful, and it is comprised of dense, mossy jungles.     Tanudan has a lot of Tourist spot which is still unexplored, I spent my holy week climbing the rugged mountains of tanudan specially Mt. Binaratan and Matabor falls.I have only one day to prepare for the climb so i went unprepared.
