    Every 27th of September each year means the week-long celebration of Anihan Festival in Iloilo City as an expression of gratefulness for a bountiful harvest and being triumphant against hardships and trials during the critical times.     Dueñas is a fourth class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 33,671 people.

    The annual Anihan Festival of Dueñas, Iloilo kicked off yesterday with a grand parade and street dancing.

    The pomposity of the town's annual festival which serves as a tourist gatherer, is also a part of the patronal fiesta of Duenas held every September 30.

    Mayor Robert Martin Pama formally declared the event open in the program that followed and graced by Department of Tourism 6 Director Edwin Trompeta, Iloilo's 4th District Board Member Shalene Hidalgo and other local officials.

  • Duenas Ready For Its 3rd Anihan Festival

    The municipality of Dueñas is set to celebrate its 3rd Anihan festival and Patronal Fiesta starting September 24 to 30, 2005.

    Mayor Robert Martin U. Pama said that the holding of the Anihan Festival is a way of opening the door to a "new Dueñas" that is truly the seat of history in Panay and one that has abundant resources yet to be discovered.

    The festivities will kick off on September 24 with a parade and opening program in the morning and the Search for Miss Anihan in the evening.

    The 11th Anihan Festival of Dueñas town in Iloilo will open on September 22 with a grand parade, street dancing and Anihan group presentation with eight tribes expected to participate.

    Tourism Officer Susan Pacheo said the Anihan group presentation is one of the highlights of the annual festivity and has continued to attract more tourists for the past 10 years.
