  • Cape Bojeador Lighthouse In Burgos Ilocos Norte

    It was already late afternoon when we traveled to a winding road going up a hill to our last spot in Ilocos Norte that day.

    Once we got out of the van, we were welcomed by this spectacular view of the vast landscape and sea. We were on top of the Vigia de Nagpartian Hill and at our back is the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse.

  • The Historical Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

    Cape Bojeador Lighthouse (Burgos Lighthouse) is situated in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It is a cultural heritage that was erected during the Spanish era in the Philippines. It's a 66-foot-tall octagonal stone tower on Vigia de Nagpartian Hill with an overlooking scene of Cape Bojeador. This lighthouse was first designed by Magin Pers and Pers in 1887 and finished by the Lighthouse Service under Guillermo Brockman.

    When in Ilocos, one should definitely see nature's beautiful attraction of the creamy white rock destination called the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation.

    Just about an hour away from Laoag City is where you will find the jump-off point for Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. It is named so as "puraw" which translates to "white" in Ilocano, and it is the visually appealing rock formation that is the attraction that the tourists want to see.

  • The Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

    As part of our Ilocos adventure we visited the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse. This 20 meter octagonal stone tower was established during the Philippine Spanish Colonial period. That still functions as a welcoming beacon to the international ships that enter Philippine Archipelago. We got there through a motorcycle from Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, another nice place to visit in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
