    I guess it is safe to say that a trip to Ilocos will not be completed without visiting the picture worthy attractions offered by the Bangui Windmills. Those windmills in Burgos (Check : Burgos Windfarm and Kapurpurawan Rock Formation) might put those people with OCD on whack but those in Bangui will put them back in calm state due to its straightly aligned windmills along the shore.

    Located at the municipality of Bangui in Ilocos Norte, the windmills are strategically place facing the west Philippine Sea from where the winds blows towards the land. According to Northwind Bangui Bay Project which operates the windmills, the location along the shore is optimal in removing windbreaks. The site is free from any trees and vegetation which stretches approximately 9 km. along the shoreline and are 236 meters apart which are lined up giving a composition to the scene.

    Second day in Ilocos! You can read about our first day here. And as I've mentioned in my previous post, I booked the tours thru our hotel. A tour guide was with us for this day and the next day. It was a jam packed day for us. Ganun talaga if you book tours, maybe next time we can DIY our tour na din. The problem with traveling with kids, schedules aren't always followed. Haha! I knew I have to be the one wake them up, feed them, change their clothes and fix our things for the day. So, I woke up extra early so I can eat breakfast peacefully at Cafe Bonita. Ha!

    The Department of Tourism (DOT) is endorsing a village-initiated tourism project to invite more investors and tourists in Burgos town, one of Ilocos Nortes major tourist destinations and home to the largest wind farm in Southeast Asia.

    In Poblacion, village officials are pushing for the development of an Amianan tourism village, covering an area of 5,430 square meters along the national highway.

    Pagudpud Beach is definitely the king in the North in terms of beaches. After 14 hours of endless roads, (including stop overs), we finally arrived in Pagudpud. This beach is a haven for surfers and families that want to unwind from the bustling life in urban cities. Sunsets here in Pagudpud is very scenic. We will definitely come back!

    Cape Bojeador is a lighthouse located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. The view here is Majestic! You can see the edge of Luzon from the top of a hill. Cape Bojeador also has some horror stories regarding its structure.
