Tappiya Waterfalls are located in Banaue, Ifugao. About 30 minutes from Batad Village is a cascading waterfall with its enormous natural pool for swimming. A visit to Batad would be incomplete without seeing this beautiful waterfall.
The massive river falling from its apex, around 30 meters in height, is imposing. It seems that all the streams of the mountains convened together to ...
create a gigantic spring of water. And as the river falls in full force, it creates a booming sound so domineering and so constant, but yet those who hear and see it resign themselves to its serene beauty.

This itinerary is based on our preferences. With only 3 days, we wanted to be in three provinces and maximize our money and time. There are so much more left to explore in these provinces. We wanted to skip the touristy spots so we took our travel refuge and used our time exploring Ifugao since it is one of the places less traveled. The ideal route would be heading to Ifugao first.
Among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites is Batad Rice Terraces. Unlike Banaue rice terraces, it is less famous and only known to those who are brave enough to find this hidden wonder. With the Tappiya Falls to boost, the place has warmed its way into one of my favorites.
Batad, I love you and I hate you.
I love you for taking my breath away. You leave me breathless with your pristine rice terraces and far-flung appeal. Many have called your terraces the most beautiful in the Philippines. I havent seen them all, but I believe it.
Banaue Rice Terraces, Sagada and Mt. Pulag are just three of the famous tourist spots in the Cordillera region. I usually see them on the post cards before but please don't calculate my age. Honestly, traveling to these gorgeous spots is a bit challenging because of its geographical location; seven to twelve hours are needed just for transportation. In the contrary, let's proceed to the reason why you should visit the Cordilleras, especially the Province of Ifugao. Here are a few of the photos I captured during our visit for you appreciate the magnificence of nature hidden in this region.
I have been to Mountain Province and Ifugao before (Ive also blogged about them: click each province to read about them in detail) but there are always good reasons to go back. From wonderful sunsets and sunrises atop the mountains of Maligcong to the cold, dark caves of Sagada (both of which I was not able to do before) up to the impressive terraces and amazing falls of Batad, its always great to go to these Cordillera travel destinations. This is a travel guide on how to enjoy these places in 4 days with tips, suggestions and recommendations.
Nothing beats waking up in the morning on the sweet sound of the chirping birds, on the fresh breeze of the mountain air and on the majestic view of rice terraces! Nothing beats waking up in the morning in Batad!
