  • Kialegnon Fest Begins In Davao

    The 5th Kialegnon Festival kicked off here Monday morning with a fun run participated in by more than 700 local officials, staff and residents.

    Mayor Jess Lumanog led the event that started and ended at the public market square. This was the first time that a fun run was listed as part of the week long festival that will culminate on Sept. 28.

    Other activities during the week long festivities are Lumba sa Karabao, Karabao Make over, Lumba sa Kabayo, Pig Catching, Bamboo Pole Climbing, and Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan (street dancing).

  • All Set For 7th Kialegnon Festival

    Preparations are underway for the incoming 7th Kialegnon Festival in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. The celebration will be from September 22 to September 28, 2014.

    Several competitions, events and activities have been lined up to spice the festival.

    As an opening salvo, Lumbang Kialegnon (Megathon Challenge) will be the contest of endurance, stamina and energy. It is five-event race that includes Karang Race, Bikathon, Walkathon, Marathon and Carabao-Balsa Race as the last event for the finish line.

    Prizes are up for grabs for winners of the lined up competitions.

  • Davao Sur Town Festival Kicks Off

    The 5th Kialegnon Festival here officially commenced early Monday morning with a fun run that was participated by more than 700 runners led Mayor Jess Lumanog and Vice Mayor Marty Basunillo and municipal councilors.

    This was the first time that a fun run activity was listed as part of the week long festival celebration that culminates on September 28 with a grand parade.

    Rain showers did not prevent the footrace to start at 5:30 a.m. from the Public Market Square, the start and finish line of the run.

  • Kialegnon Festival

    Magsaysay Davao del Sur is the nearest town next to Bansalan when it comes to geographical location. After the Bansaulog celebration of Bansalan, the Municipality of Magsaysay also will be celebrating the Kialegnon Festival. The festive event will be launched this September 24, 2008. Magsaysay, called by the locals as Kialeg, has been known for its inland resorts like the Encar, Kalapao and Kamonsilan.
