The other weekend I tagged along with the organisers and participants of the caving guides training, explored the Kabyawan Caves ("sanctuary of the bats" caves) in Brgy. Dacudao, San Isidro, Davao del Norte.

What awaits the cave explorer? We had the opportunity to explore a world of much different view from that above ground we live in, a world of darkness bounded by rock and mud. Interesting rock formations, watercourse, tight crawlways, deep pits, huge rooms with big crevice. Some crickets, some specie of bats, Tarantula and snakes await the cave explorer. Did I scare you?
