The Department of Tourism (DoT) in Soccsksargen (Region 12) has chosen a colony of a certain religious cult in Makilala, North Cotabato to become one of the region's tourist attractions.
DoT 12 regional director Nelly Dillera said they chose a settlement of the believers of the Iglesia Ni Jehova: Moncado Alpha and Omega in Barangay New Israel, Makilala to become a model of their community-based eco-tourism site in the region because of its "undisturbed" natural area, wildlife and plants, cultural diversity, and unique traditions.
