Bulawan Festival is the province of Compostela Valley's annual festivity to celebrate its peoples' culture, heritage and history as well as a thanksgiving for a unified government, good harvest and abundant natural resources. It is held on March 3rd-8th during the founding anniversary of the province of Compostela Valley.

    But behind the minerals their mountains possess, the province is also home to different tribes practicing culture that share the same value as the bounty they hold.

    To show gratitude to God who blessed them with such fortune, the province celebrates with its people through the Bulawan Festival. The festival, which is on its eighth year, is celebrated in the same week of its 20th Founding Anniversary on March 4-8.

    Compostela Valley Celebrates Festival Of Gold

    The gold capital of the Philippines culminated its five-day 10th Bulawan Festival, along with the province's 18th founding anniversary on Wednesday.

    Among the highlights of the festival was the Bulawanong Pasundayag sa Kadalanan wherein students from various towns showcased Compostela Valley's six tribes through street dance.

    Other events were the Bulawan Festival Queen pageant and Bulawanang Panaghiusa unity concert.
