  • Chasing The Sunrise In Bagacay Point Lighthouse

Do you love sunrises as much as I do? Here's a really nice spot to wait for the sun to come up!

Built in 1904, the active lighthouse has been providing guiding light to seafarers and fishermen for many years. Bagacay Point Lighthouse, also referred to as the Parola, is one of the many attractions visited by tourists in Cebu and is a well-known location for photoshoots as well.

The best time for a photoshoot? During sunrise, of course!

There is a small viewing deck by the sea where you can watch the sunrise. We got there by just following the trail. It was extremely muddy as it was rai ...

  • My First Trail Run

If someone would ask me about my Columbia Eco Trail Run experience, I would borrow the words of the author and professor Michael Josephson when he said, "Don't ask me if it was easy, ask if it's worth it".

The Columbia Eco Trail was my first trail run. Now on its fifth leg, I've heard that the first four editions were equally adventure-packed races held at different eco-tourism destinations in Cebu . Columbia and R.O.X, who were the organizers said that the fifth leg is the most challenging race ever. True enough, it was an extremely difficult, risky and challenging route that covers a to ...

  • Trekking Stargazing In Mt Lanigid Liloan Cebu

I don't want someone who promise me the moon and stars. I want someone who promises me to lay on the grass and watch them with me."

This is not a trek scheduled by NCR trekkers nor the society of happy people but a trekking by the BRB mountaineering group. This time we (Eduleen, AJ and I) are guest of Miss Kresia of the The Wanderfull Life.

Some of the group members in ...

  • Lanigid Hill Social Climbing 101

"So when people leave, I've learned the secret: let them. Because, most of the time, they have to. Let them walk away and go places. Let them have adventures in the wild without you. Let them travel the world and explore life beyond a horizon that you exist in. And know, deep down, that heroes aren't qualified by their capacity to stay but by their decision to return. All great people leave. And, yes. One day, a great person just might leave you." – The Staying Philosophy (everydayisa)

I'd always thought that solo backpacking was the scariest thing that could ever happen to me as an adven ...

  • Scammed Into Hiking Lanigid Hill

"We've been scammed!" my friend laughingly exclaimed.

This as we trudged up an incline just five minutes into our hike. We had expected an easy trail with gentle slopes; a walk in the park. An officemate who had hiked Lanigid Hill in Brgy. Mulao in Liloan just a week before said it was, in one word, easy. But this...this was not easy. This was a workout.

This coming from a bunch of people who enjoyed hiking...only on flat ground. After taking a wrong turn and ending up on a slippery slope 15 minutes into the hike, we traced our way back to the three–pronged fork in the path and picked ...
