Cebu is one of the most popular islands in the Philippines. It has a vast array of activities like swimming with Whale Sharks, hikes, free-diving with sardines and island hopping. However, the island of Cebu is waterfall heaven. I'm not making this up? There are over 1000 waterfalls on Cebu. I've started making my way to lots of them and I will update this list as I visit more but for now, these are my favorite waterfalls on Cebu!
A typical adventure trip to Cebu typically consists of a combination of city and Southern Cebu tour. However, with Cebu's countless offerings, you will never run out of beautiful places to explore and activities to try in the province. This post will feature some of Southern Cebu's most majestic waterfalls located in Samboan and Ginatilan.
Dao Waterfall offers not only an epic waterfall finale but it is the trek in that is truly astounding. For thirty minutes you wade through those trademark Cebu blues, while ferns and palms cover the canyon walls on either side. The trek to Dao Falls itself isn't hard but it does require you to walk through the water and navigate your way around boulders and rocks. It is a moderate adventure with incredible scenery, which is far away from the crowds at Kawasan Falls.
So much of what makes Cebu a top destination in the world is its southern part where lies a circus of nature-based entertainment for both tourists and travellers. To name a few, there is the gentle yet ginormous whale sharks that dance along the small waves at the off coast of Oslob, the mountain peaks of Dalaguete and Badian that balance through the beaming vastness of Cebus horizon, and the majestic cascades from the waterfalls of Samboan that trapeze to a hundred feet drop. South Cebu is an extravaganza of natural wonders!
We naturally seekers of wonders, we travel far to see the majesty of old ruins, the venerable forms of the hoary mountains and great waterfalls. The town of Samboan is making a name for itself among travelers with its mystical and enchanting collections of waterfalls that lured locals and foreigners alike.
