  • 70 percent of Ipo Dam rainforest gone

    After being told that 70 percent of the rainforest that cradles the Ipo Dam in this province has been destroyed due to illegal logging, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado called on national authorities to beef up forest protection forces.

    Alvarado said it is high time for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to train more forest rangers and indoctrinate and compensate them well for them not to be vulnerable to corruption by illegal loggers.
