The Angat Rainforest and Eco Park is located in Norzagay, Bulacan on the Norzagaray Bakas River near BitBit Bridge. The park will help raise awareness on the importance of preserving and protecting the the Angat watershed which is home to 290 endemic species of non-woody and woody plants like bagtikan, tanguile and yakal that have disappeared from other forests in the country.

Part of its mission to inspire and initiate leadership opportunities for its members, Children International Manila Alumni Association (CIMAA) regularly conducts community service project. This year on a Black Saturday, eight members of CIMAA (including our family and with a guest volunteer) helped build an earth dome for the Dumagat (indigenous community) in the mountains of Angat in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The said earth dome is part of an experimental project for the possible ecotourism project of the Sagip Sierra Madre Environmental Society together with the Dumagat in the community.

The National Power Corp. (Napocor) recently opened the Angat Rainforest and Ecological Park.
The park's view deck, ecological center and Tarictic fun trail are among its major attractions, Napocor president Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita said.

"Angat is considered a biodiversity hotspot and so the Angat Rainforest and Ecological Park will be a perfect learning venue for environmental education and awareness," said Napocor president Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita.

It was just a couple of months ago when, after evaluating the ecotourism potential of Angat Watershed and submitting the development framework plan, I got invited to the "soft launch" of now Angat Rainforest and Ecopark.
