Mt. Ugo, sometimes called Mount Ugu, is a major mountain climbing destination located in Itogon, Benguet in the Cordilleras. Although its elevation is low compared to the lofty heights of Mt. Pulag and Mt. Napulauan, it has stately pine forests and spectacular views similar to its higher counterparts.

First Climb For 2019: Mt Ugo Traverse (From Kayapa Nueva Vizcaya To Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet) Pt 1
Like everyone else, I have high hopes for 2019, and it goes without saying that I also look for ways to start the year "right", and by "right", I mean by doing something I love and enjoy. My first climb for 2019 (and I say that with certainty, because this sure as hell ain't going to be my last and only one for this year!) involved traversing through the much-climbed Mt. Ugo, starting from the municipality of Kayapa in Nueva Vizcaya on the first day, and ending at Brgy. Tinongdan in Itogon, Benguet the following day.
Two years after my first ascend in Mt. Ugo, I went back again and personally dubbed this climb as my "Revenge Climb".
Mount Ugo, or otherwise spelled as Mount Ugu, is one of the famous hiking destinations in Cordillera. With an elevation of 2,150 meters above sea level, it is lower than the adjacent Mount Pulag, Mount Amuyao, and Mount Napulauan. Nevertheless, it still competes with its own distinct beauty like the other surrounding mountains. The towering pine-tree forest, rolling trails, highland villages and breathtaking views are just some of its highlights.
