The Jangjang-Balengasay hanging bridge is expected to facilitate the transportation of products from local livelihood like fish and provide safe passage for school children especially during elevated water level in the river. It was funded by SNAP-Benguet through the endorsement of Barangay Ambuklao and Benguet Province, with construction beginning earlier this year.

Mt. Pulag- dubbed as the 3rd highest mountain in the Philippines and Luzon's highest peak is one of the most visited mountain in the country. For the record, hiking Mt. Pulag was not on my bucket list even though a lot of my friends were pushing me to go there to witness the "SEA of CLOUDS". I asked myself, "Am I brave enough to conquer Mt. Pulag?" According to my friends who went there, the temperature can even go down to negative degrees. I admit I am quiet frail to low temperatures and I was afraid I wouldn't survive the hike.
Even though I have so many fears and doubts in life, I still ...
Last May 29-30, 2015, my cousins decided to climb Mount Pulag. A week before the actual climb, my cousin and their significant other had to back out due to work. My little sister and I were invited to take their slots as they were already paid for. My little sister climbed last January 30, 2015 and they did not reach the summit. She was traumatized by the experience because she almost froze to death and she saw nothing! Well, that didn't hinder me from still pursuing the climb together with my cousins and some friends.

Mt. Pulag gave me a high that lasted for weeks, months even. The whole trip was a collection of first times, great views, fun and challenging experiences, and awesome friendships. Here are some of the best memories I have from my Mt. Pulag trip, in no particular order:

Mount Pulag, the highest mountain in Luzon, easily rivals Sagada as my favorite local destination (and you know how precious Sagada is for me) in terms of the view, the experience, and the people I was with on the trip. Even before reaching the summit, I had a pretty good time with the crew. The road to Pulag is an adventure on its own.
A couple of months ago, my Team Tadhana friends and I started talking about climbing Mt. Pulag. At the time, I'd always say I want to go but needed more physical preparation. After all, this is Philippine's second (or third? My sources can't seem to agree on ...
People say that the first person you want to spend time with when you go to a new place is the most important person in your life. This much is true for Biyahero Drew Arellano, who always mentions that he wants to travel with his wife Iya on "Biyahe ni Drew." He does not have to do so anymore because at long last, Iya has finally joined Drew in one of his many trips! The occasion: Valentine's day. The destination: Mount Pulag and Bokod, Benguet.
Mount Pulag is the the highest mountain in Luzon and the third highest in the Philippines. There are three trails available for people who want to ...
